Gettin Old Ain’t Easy Series

Look around and you’ll see new assisted living communities being built all over the Denver area. It’s no secret we’re sicker than ever before with 60% of all Americans over 50 having been diagnosed with a chronic health issue. Chronic health issues are rarely genetic (2-5%). They are due more to your poor environment and lifestyle.
One big factor is movement, or lack thereof. There’s no easier way to reduce your life expectancy than to simply stop moving. On the other side of the coin, there’s no faster way to increase the life you have left than by moving more. To be clear, it’s not just about going for walks, although that’s a wonderful place to start! Specific movements are what’s necessary to improve your strength, balance, and overall health.
